What's new?

This month's updates include Expedia reservation update enhancement, Booking.com and Expedia occupancy based rates updates, mandatory fee display calendar enhancement and SHR, an Access company.

Expedia reservation update enhancement

An enhancement is being made to one of the many features available with SHR's connectivity to Expedia. The latest update relates to the Expedia reservation update feature within the CRS.

Previously, Expedia would only accept changes or cancellations to reservations which were arriving for the current date, or a recently past date. Expedia now supports updates for bookings arriving on dates in the future. With the January 2025 release, the tool within the CRS is being updated to reflect this as well so you may apply changes and cancellations for past and future bookings as needed.

Booking.com and Expedia occupancy based rates updates

Currently occupancy-based pricing for Booking.com and Expedia is based off the CRS maximum occupancy field. We have found that often times this total is different from the adult occupancy value and therefore is causing errors when this pricing is sent to the extranet. To address this, we will be changing to base occupancy-based pricing off the adult occupancy field in the CRS instead.

To ensure the correct occupancies and pricing are being sent to the OTAs, we strongly encourage you to take this time to log into the extranets and the CRS, to ensure the adult occupancy settings match. If these do not match, pricing may be incorrect on those channels which may also result poor rankings or being disconnected until the settings and pricing are corrected.

Mandatory fee display calendar enhancement

Calendar pricing in the CRS booking engine will reflect compounded fees consistently for packages as configured in the CRS. If you’ve adjusted messaging, labels or temporarily disabled calendar pricing to maintain consistent displays for such scenarios, you can update these settings to your selling preference once the change is implemented.

SHR, an Access Company

In December 2024, we updated the CRS application with new logos and branding, and the Voice application will follow in January 2025. This is purely a naming and logo change across systems with no impact on functionality. Below is an example of the updated logo in the Voice Application for customers using our default login screen. Any custom screens will have the naming conventions only updated. Rest assured, the features and functionalities you rely on remain unchanged and will continue to be enhanced now that SHR is an Access Company.

How to access this update

Updates are automatically updated and available in the CRS.
