Expedia value add promotions

Expedia value add promotions allow your property to offer additional services and incentives to guests booking through Expedia. These promotions range from beverage credits to gift cards to late checkout options, helping entice shoppers and increase booking appeal.

When guests book through Expedia, active value add promotions display as promotion indicators during the booking process. Guests can select qualifying promotions based on their stay dates and room selection. These value add items land in the CRS as an add-on when created using the criteria below.

⚠️Important: Value adds require configuration in both the Expedia extranet and your CRS through matching add-on items.

Create matching add-ons in your CRS

To ensure value add promotions update your CRS successfully, create matching add-on items with specific naming conventions.

  • If Expedia shows "Per Day," configure CRS Add-On as "Per Night".

  • The CRS add-on name must include at least the first two words of the value add as it appears in the Expedia extranet.

Below are examples of add-ons:

  • Expedia value add name: "Free dinner for %percent_count% (per day)"

  • Required CRS add-on name: "Free dinner"

📌Note: Exact matching may not always be possible, but including the first two words ensures successful association.

Reservation confirmation

After booking completion, value add requests appear in multiple locations within your CRS:

  • Add-ons tab: Shows the selected value add service.

  • Guest comments: Displays value add details for property reference.

PMS integration

If your PMS interface supports add-ons – sometimes called service items - the system sends value add details to your property management system. Verify specific integration capabilities with your PMS vendor.
