Prior date arrival allowed for reservations
This optional CRS feature allows you to create bookings for arrival dates that have already passed. You might find this useful if your property frequently receives reservations after midnight for the previous day via CRS direct channels. This functionality works in addition to any PMS features that allow reservations or walk-ins for prior arrival dates.
β οΈImportant: The support team can enable this for you. Check with your specific PMS integration to ensure it will accept these reservations from the CRS and that inventory continues to update after the date changes to the new day.
Feature highlights
When you enable past date arrivals, the CRS no longer enforces cancellation policies systematically for any bookings - not just those with prior arrival dates. This is similar to the 'anytime cancel' option that allows bookings past their cancellation deadline.
Guests can change their bookings even when penalties should apply, meaning your property team needs to track late changes or cancellations to apply any charges the guest agreed to at booking time.
πNote: You may need to clarify your guest facing policy descriptions to communicate that charges may still apply even if a booking is changed or cancelled.
Booking logic for past dates
The system uses the following logic when this feature is enabled.
Voice application and CRS booking engine:
The system retains inventory for the past day. When this setting is enabled and inventory remains available, rooms can be booked for prior days.
This feature allows rooms to be booked for past dates, making it ideal for last-minute reservations after midnight. Cancellation policies are not systematically enforced and require monitoring to ensure penalties are charged as stated in guest communications.
