Upload property level images or video links

The CRS enables you to add general property images like external shots and common areas. These typically display wherever property images (not room or offer specific) are shown in the supported channels. You can use multiple images in most areas to show variety to shoppers and apply a sort order for optimal presentation. Channels using these images typically include the CRS booking engine, voice application and the content API.

Follow the steps below to learn how to upload property level images or video links.

📌Note: the supported formats are JPG, PNG, GIF for images, links to videos may also be entered at property level. The recommended file size is 512kb and the maximum file size is 2mb.

The smaller the image file, the faster your page loads.

The recommended aspect ratio is 4:3.

  1. Go to Property Description.

  2. Go to the Multimedia menu.

  3. Select the Upload Images tab.

  4. Select your preferred upload method:

    1. Click Upload New Image button to upload from your computer:

      1. Click Choose File.

      2. Select the file from your computer.

      3. Click Open.

    2. Click Save External Media Link.

      1. Enter the URL of the video from Vimeo or YouTube.

    3. Click Use Existing Image button and select from images already uploaded in Multimedia section for your chain:

      1. Click Select to choose your image and return to the screen.

  5. Enter the title of your image video.

  6. Enter SEO or Alt Text for screen readers and accessibility requirements.

  7. Enter sorting number to control display order.

    1. Property level images and videos use the same sort order.

  8. Click Upload.


Add property level image and video language translations from the default

You can enter language translations for both the image title and alt-text fields as in other areas of the system.

Follow the steps below to learn how to enter language translations.

  1. Go to Property Description.

  2. Go to the Multimedia menu.

  3. Select the Multi-Language tab.

  4. Select the Image Title or File Name from the drop down menu in the upper right of the screen.

  5. Choose the language from the drop down menu.

  6. Enter the translated title.

  7. Enter the translated SEO or Alt-Text description.

  8. Click Save.

The SEO impact of images is limited today to protect the booking engine from excessive scraping and bots. However, the new fields in place for image titles and descriptions establish the foundation for more functionality in the future - for our CRS, CMS as well as website development.

The CRS booking engine allows Google's ad bots - for Google Ads validation processes only, to ensure the booking engine is a valid end point. This applies to custom domains as well as the default provided by SHR Group. This is achieved using Robots.txt which is commonly used.

The CRS booking engine does not block but requests that the site is not scraped and this is generally respected. In rare circumstances where we identify a bad actor we put a block in place.
