Configure a rate code as qualified

Examples of qualified rates are typically government rates and senior traveler rates that are available to the general public but require proof of identification to receive the rate.

As not all shoppers will qualify for these rates, the CRS has a configurable option to reduce guest and channel partner frustration by initially displaying only rates available with no requirements.

From there a booking engine visitor is presented with a filter for special rates to select and view these qualified rates along with the publicly available rates.

๐Ÿ“ŒNote: If no rates are configured with the qualified rate checkbox, the 'Special Rates' filter will not appear.

Setup a rate code as qualified

Follow the steps below to setup a rate code as qualified:

  1. Go to Rate Management.

  2. Go to Rate Code.

  3. Click on the rate code from the list to be brought to the Modify tab.

  4. Check the qualified rate check box.

  5. Click Save.

Alternative display options for qualified rates not using this feature

Below outlines options for alternative use for qualified rate:

  • Configure as non-qualified: Do not check the box to return all the rates with general availability.

  • Restrict with access codes: Restrict these rate codes to only return if the guest has an access code or direct link from a website or landing page.

  • Strategy consideration: Consider your property's current revenue generated on qualified bookings and future strategy to grow or reduce this volume when selecting the best display option for your business.

  • Metasearch and advertising channels: Some metasearch partners filter out rates with the qualified rate checkbox to not display them online and in advertising. Consult the connection documentation for the channel to confirm.

  • Direct channels: This does not affect other direct channel rate displays:

    • GDS agents use the category to view these rates.

    • Agents using the CRSโ€™s voice application always see all unrestricted and available rates in a general search.
