Rooms to charge (RTC)

This functionality separates the physical room assignment from the billing room type, allowing you to surprise guests with upgrades or resolve service issues without impacting your rate structure or inventory accuracy.

Rooms to charge (RTC) features

The feature separates the physical room assignment from the billing room type, allowing flexible upgrade management.

Outlined below is what occurs when you use RTC:

  • Inventory deduction: The system deducts inventory from the room type the guest is actually staying in.

  • Rate adjustment: The room rate adjusts to match the RTC room type and both room types pass to the PMS (if supported).

  • Guest communication: Confirmation emails show the actual room the guest will stay in with the room to charge rate.

πŸ“ŒNote: Properties not using PMSs that support this functionality can still use this feature. The RTC room type won't flow to the PMS, but you'll receive the original room type and the rate value associated with the room-to-charge selection.

  1. In the voice application go to the New Search screen.

  2. You'll see a new RTC checkbox to the right of the room type field.

  3. Select the RTC checkbox to enable room-to-charge functionality.

  4. A new dropdown field labeled Room to Charge appears with other available room types associated with the rate.

  5. Select the appropriate Room Type for charging purposes.

  6. The reservation may be confirmed as normal.

    • Both room types display on the screens through confirmation for reference.
