Create marketing messages in the CRS
You can create freeform messages to display for your customers and call center agents across multiple booking channels. Custom messages help you communicate important information, promotions, or property details directly within the booking experience.
Messages can be targeted to specific date ranges and channels to ensure relevant information reaches the right audience at the right time.
Below outlines the steps on how to create marketing messages:
πNote:
All messages are entered in the CRSβs default language.
All GDS messages must be in English.
You need full marketing permissions in your user role to manage messages in the CRS.
Click Marketing on the left navigation.
Click Messages.
Select your Date Range Type from the drop down menu:
Check-In triggers messages when guests select arrival dates within your specified range.
Calendar or booked date displays messages for a duration regardless of arrival date.
Enter the Begin Date when the message should start appearing.
Enter the End Date or leave blank if the message is ongoing.
Check the box and enter the message text for the desired channels:
Web or booking engine.
Voice.
DHISCO.
Sabre: Maximum two lines of text, maximum 63 characters including spaces per line.
Amadeus: Maximum two lines of text, maximum 64 characters including spaces per line.
Galileo: Maximum four lines of text - first line maximum 40 characters, additional lines maximum 63 characters including spaces.
Worldspan: Maximum two lines of text, maximum 64 characters including spaces per line.
Click Save to create the message.
β οΈImportant: If you have overlapping calendar and check-in date range messages, systems may truncate text due to display limitations. Each system allows only a certain number of text lines.
Create messages in the voice application
You can also create voice application messages directly within the voice system. Follow the steps below to learn how to create a voice application message:
Within the voice application go to the Messages tab.
Select Add Message to create a new message.
If managing multiple properties, select your chain or hotel group from the dropdown.
Select from the dropdown menu:
All Hotels.
A specific Hotel.
Select your date range type:
Check-in.
Calendar or Booked Date.
Enter the Begin date.
Enter the End date or leave blank for ongoing messages.
Enter your message text for the voice application only.
Click Save to create the message.
Repeat as needed for additional messages or click View Messages to see those already entered.
πNote: While the CRS allows entry of up to 346 characters for the booking engine and voice application, you should think about the guest experience as well as each system's requirements to ensure a logical display.
