Create chain level add-ons
📌Note: Property-specific elements (taxes, pricing, deposit rules) apply after assignment
Follow the steps below to create chain level add-ons.
Go to the Chain Manager menu.
Go to Chain Level Default.
Go to the Add-on menu and click Add-ons.
Select the Create New tab.
Click Create New.
Enter the add-on name in the name field.
📌Note: HTML formatting cannot be used in the name field.
Enter the description to display in the booking path to guests or agents.
Choose the add-on category from those already created or create a new category and return to building your add-on.
Select from three options for when this add-on will display and be available for sale, based on configuration elements.
This enables add-ons to be offered more strategically and as relevant to where the guest is in their planning:
Pre confirmation displays only in the booking path prior to checkout.
Post confirmation displays only to guests after the booking has been confirmed or offered as an upsell to an existing reservation.
Pre and post confirmation can be added before booking confirmation or when modifying an existing reservation.
Multi room reservations display add-ons per booking after clicking modify. This is to ensure the correct add-ons display for each booking in the itinerary.
Enter dates if the add-on should only be sold for specific stay dates. This is an optional step.
Enter begin date.
Enter end date.
Check Include in deposit if a deposit is required for the room booking.
Optionally, configure schedule by date and schedule the time by checking the boxes:
If selecting arrival date only or departure date only options, the system will automatically assign one add-on to the reservation and it cannot be scheduled.
Scheduling by date, with or without a specific time, is available for add-ons where shoppers select the quantity to add to their reservation.
For per-night pricing, selections are automatically applied each night of the stay based on the chosen criteria, and scheduling does not apply to this option.
When scheduling by date, there are two more options to restrict the guest from scheduling items on their arrival and or departure dates. If checked, these dates will not appear as selectable options to the guest.
Enter additional policy text.
Enter additional information to display to shoppers.
In the booking engine this will appear below the description.
Enter the email address(es) that you want internal or vendor notifications to go to for this add-on item when it's purchased.
Enter required rate codes and room types.
The add-on will only display when the guest selects these rooms or rates.
This does not affect the sort order, only if the add-on should appear.
Enter excluded rate codes and room types.
This entry will ensure the add-on will never display when the guest selects these rooms or rates.
This ensures the most relevant add-ons will be displayed to the guest during the booking journey.
Click to Save.
Click the Multi-Language tab to enter translations if applicable.
Select the language from the dropdown menu.
Enter the translated Add-Ons Category Name.
Enter the translated Add-Ons Category Description.
