Booking engine property description, branding configuration controls and settings

Customize your booking engine's appearance, layout, and booking flow to match your property's brand and optimize guest experience across different devices and booking paths.

⚠️Important: This area is recommended only for individuals with solid understanding of CSS files and HTML code. Our team is happy to provide a quotation to advise or implement the more technical elements of the branding as part of our professional services.

Create a property level branding for the CRS booking engine

Follow the steps below to create a property level branding for the CRS booking engine.

  1. Go to Property Description.

  2. Go to Branding.

  3. Click New IBE Branding Tab.

  4. Enter name - name of the branding to display on the IBE Brandings tab.

  5. Select IBE template:

    • Top bottom flex - allows for the greatest variety of customization.

    • Top bottom limited - more restricted customization options.

  6. Redirect IBE to – (if enabled) when enabling another booking engine, this redirects any traffic to the browser in this field. Allows a property to "disable" the IBE and redirect traffic to another location. Useful for both booking engines using Distribution APIs and Independent BE implementations.

  7. Select language from the dropdown for this branding version.

  8. Enter CSS .

    • Upload CSS file - custom style sheets should be saved as separate files and uploaded with this function. When updating a file, update the name since it will not replace the file on the server (example: custom-styles-1.0.css, custom-styles-1.1.css, etc).

πŸ“ŒNote: Any images or font references in the CSS must be uploaded to the CRS's image server and can be uploaded via the 'File Upload' tab within the Branding section. Images already loaded in the CRS via the Multimedia navigation will appear

    • Dynamic CSS block - CSS file content can also be pasted into this area. However, if placing styles here, it will write this code onto every page. If you save the file as a CSS file and upload, it is an external CSS resource that will be cached by the browser, allowing pages to load faster.

  9. Top division block - place header content and structure of the booking engine by entering the appropriate HTML code in this field Location: body > Div.ws-wrapper > header > div#headerwrapper > div#header

  10. Bottom division block - place footer content and structure of the booking engine by entering the appropriate HTML code in this field.

  11. CDN media domain - used when images are housed with another domain. This is usually the recommended option for efficient page loading times.

  12. Privacy policy link - enter link to the property or brand's online privacy policy for use on the booking engine for cookie tracking consent configuration.

  13. IBE skin version:

    • Hotel default - standard setting without specific WCAG configurations.

    • Classic IBE - standard setting without specific WCAG configurations.

    • WCAG - recommended setting with additional accessibility elements configured.

  14. Cookie consent for booking engine compliance - configure tracking consent options:

    • None – no cookie consent in the CRS (not recommended).

    • CRS hotel level cookie – for property level branding, shoppers are prompted for consent upon entry into the booking engine.

    • CRS chain level cookie – for chain level branding, shoppers are prompted for consent upon entry to the multi property booking engine page to carry into the property booking engine.

    • CookieBot CMP – Consent manager to carry cookie preferences from website to the booking engine and not prompt the shopper again although they can change preferences anytime.

    • Cookie information CMP – Consent manager to carry cookie preferences from website to the booking engine and not prompt the shopper again although they can change preferences anytime.

    • OneTrust CMP – Consent manager to carry cookie preferences from website to the booking engine and not prompt the shopper again although they can change preferences anytime.

  15. Calendar settings - Booking engine calendar display options by default when a shopper arrives in the booking engine:

    • Open.

    • Closed.

  16. Page width - content display across desktop view (mobile will stack regardless of the selection here):

    • Compact - max-width typically 960px.

    • Wide - max-width typically 1143px via current custom branding.

    • Full - max-width: none.

πŸ“ŒNote: If Page Width is set to wide or full, the system will display two rooms in a row if the calendar driven (shop) page is in use.

  17. Upsell modal – (if enabled) configure length of stay upsell modal window when the guest qualifies based on the setup rules instead of the add-on upsell modal.

  18. IBE branding exclusive - if enabled, the "Top Division Block" content goes into <header> under #ws-utility, and the "Bottom Division Block" content goes into <footer>

  19. Split out add to display taxes (generally resort fees) in calendar - this checkbox enables hover-over display in the calendar without the resort fee so shoppers may view each date for these additional amounts.

πŸ“ŒNote: This checkbox is not tied to the tax configuration (resort fee add to rate amount) but they can be used together. The display is the same regardless of the tax configuration with 'add to rate amount'. Use labels to add clarity as needed for guests on rate/tax/fee displays.

  20. Header type - for property information display above availability return:

    • None - no information, just the availability displayed. This is useful when the hotel information is in the header or the guest is navigating from a comprehensive page so they understand the property and location.

    • Version one - contains property address and description with tabs below for more property information: about (location information), amenities, image gallery and map.

    • Version two - property address, check in/out time with links to map, website with airport information on the right with image gallery on the left.

⚠️Important: For Trip Advisor display, permission must be granted from them to use this display on the booking engine as set up in property description.

  21. Floating sidebar on desktop & tablet – check to keep the reservation summary, typically at the top of the screen on the right-hand side as the user scrolls further down the check out page.

  22. Calendar with lowest available rate - enable to utilize one of the three options available to define the lowest rate value shown on the calendar in the booking journey.

  23. Limit calendar rates public – enter rates for the calendar pricing to provide real time availability for each date.

    • If the property uses our CRM with loyalty, an additional five rates may be defined for member rates.

  24. Limit calendar packages public - enter packages for the calendar pricing to provide real time availability for each date.

  25. Enhanced upgrade modal – (if enabled) check to present higher room categories as a pop up in the cart rather than the default dropdown menu.

  26. Default length of stay - enter the minimum length of stay to offer as a default for this specific CRS booking engine branding.

  27. Limit calendar promo rate – (custom integration) if the hotel has calendar set up for lowest available rate enabled and desires to limit it to specific rates, this allows selection of promo rates for that display.

  28. Enable address auto complete – (custom integration).

  29. Click Save or Cancel.

Viewing IBE brandings already created for the CRS booking engine

Follow the steps below to view IBE brandings already created for the CRS booking engine.

  1. Go to Property Description.

  2. Go to Branding.

  3. Go to IBE Brandings tab to view the options below:

    • Branding name: Brandings created at this property have hyperlinks to modify from this screen. Brandings that cannot be modified were created at chain level and may be modified there.

    • Enabled: When checked, this branding may be used for bookings. When unchecked, it is not live or ready for bookings but may be tested in advance of enabling. The brand ID (or group ID for chain-level branding) in the URL is how each branding is recognized by the system.

    • Default: When checked, this branding will be used if no other is configured for a specific booking path.

    • Preview: Link to view the booking engine branding settings for this specific configuration.

πŸ€“Tip: Create specific or unique booking engine brandings for each booking path to provide seamless transitions from your website, landing pages, seasonal emails for special offers, or other distributed booking links.

For properties with multiple locations, you can create brandings for specific groups of properties or entire chains.
