Chain level rate code groups and market segments

Centralized management tools for standardizing rate organization and market segmentation. These optional features provide operational consistency while offering flexibility for property-specific customization.

Integration considerations: Several features include code fields for PMS integration. Consider connected modules, reporting systems, and third-party integrations when creating or modifying these elements, as changes may impact existing workflows and data relationships.


Chain level rate code groups

Organize rate codes for enhanced management and reporting capabilities across the chain. This is an optional feature.

Rate code groups may be created at both chain and property levels and used in conjunction with each other.

Follow the steps below to create chain level rate code groups.

  1. Go to Chain Manager.

  2. Go to Chain Level Default.

  3. Go to Rate Code Group.

  4. Click Create New.

  5. Enter rate code group name.

  6. Enter the code this is for PMS integration if applicable.

  7. Reporting only: Check if this group should be used for reporting purposes only, not rate management.

  8. Click Save.

  9. The rate code group becomes available for use at all properties within the chain.


Rate code assignment

For rate management: Rate codes are assigned to rate code groups through the rate code configuration for system management and restriction setting.

For reporting only: Use the associated rate code tab to assign rate codes specifically for reporting purposes and not rate management groupings.

Follow the steps below to assign chain level rate codes to chain level rate code groups for reporting.

  1. Go to Chain Manager.

  2. Go to Chain Level Default.

  3. Go to Rate Code Group.

  4. Go to Associated Rate Code tab.

  5. Choose the rate code group from the dropdown in the upper right.

  6. Click in the Rate Code box for the relevant rate categories to choose the rates for this rate code group or check the Select All boxes.

  7. Click Save.


Chain level market segments

Categorize rate codes for management and reporting capabilities with uniform application across the chain. This is an optional feature.

Market segments be created at both chain and property levels and used in conjunction with each other.

Market segment structure

Two-tier system:

  • Major market segments: Container groups for organizing multiple market segments.

  • Market segments: Individual segments assigned directly to rate codes.

  • Assignment logic: Market segments are assigned to rate codes (not major market segments). Major market segments serve as organizational groupings only.

Create chain level major market segments

Follow the steps below to create chain level major market segments.

  1. Go to Chain Manager.

  2. Go to Chain Level Default.

  3. Go to Market Segment.

  4. Check the Major Market Segment box.

  5. Click Create New.

  1. Go to Chain Manager.

  2. Go to Chain Level Default.

  3. Go to Market Segment.

  4. Skip the major market segment box.

  5. Choose the Major Market Segment to assign from the dropdown.

  6. Click Save.
