Tracking code and pixel requirements
Users with tracking code embedded in the CRS need to adjust tracking logic to accommodate the reduction of steps in the booking path and may also need to adjust embedded code to avoid skewed tracking and reporting results.
Key tracking considerations
Single item carts reduced clicks tracking flow is used for carts that contain exactly one item. Additional shopping and items in the cart direct users through the previous, longer flow even if the Reduced Clicks option is selected.
Page name tracking
When tracking or reporting based on page name, add (combocheckout.aspx) when flow is used. Carts with multiple items continue to use the (cart.aspx) and (checkout.aspx) pages as before. Examples include Google Conversion, Google AdWords, Google Tag Manager Overture, or custom pixel tracking.
WsVars parameter tracking
When tracking based on WsVars parameters, the new (combocheckout.aspx) page is reported as Step 4 (Checkout) and Step 3 (Cart) is no longer executed during the flow. No additional action is required.
Conversion page variables
Both the (Checkout) and (ComboCheckout) pages use the same conversion page variables (page 4). The variable descriptions used include ComboCheckout updates. These are the variables seen within 3rd Party Web tracking within the Parameter 2 field and do not require a change.
πNote: You may need to adjust your tracking code configuration to ensure accurate reporting when using Reduced Clicks to Book functionality.
