Geolocation rate explained
You can personalize your online booking experience with location-based rate displays. Below will give an overview of what geolocation rates are and a helpful video to further outline what a geolocation rate is.
Geolocation specific offers enable you to display or exclude specific rates based on the user's device IP address, providing a more personalized direct online booking experience.
This functionality allows you to tailor your selling strategy according to geographic markets and visitor locations.
The CRS booking engine identifies the device IP address of online visitors, allowing it to tailor the displayed rates or packages based on their geographic location.
System users can configure conditions for offer display based on the visitor's:
Country.
Region or state.
City.
You can choose to include or exclude specific geolocations, providing granular control over which rates are displayed to visitors.
Included rates will only be shown for the selected geolocations.
Excluded rates will never be shown for the selected geolocations.

Create a new geolocation rule
Below will outline how to create a geolocation rule:
β οΈImportant: Before creating geolocation rules you will need to consider the following:
Compliance requirements: Verify regional regulations around geolocation-based pricing to ensure compliance with local laws and regulations.
Technical limitations: Be aware that shoppers may use VPNs, dynamic IP addresses, or other technologies that may not accurately reflect their current physical location.
User role access: Access to this functionality is restricted based on user roles and responsibilities within your organization.
Go to Rate Management.
Click Geo Pricing.
Click Create new tab.
Enter your geo pricing code to identify the rule, a maximum of 16 characters can be entered.
Enter your geo pricing name to distinguish this rule from others, a maximum of 256 characters can be entered.
Enter your geo pricing description to explain the rule's purpose.
This is for internal use only and won't be shown to guests.
Choose your geo pricing condition from the dropdown menu.
Based on this selection the corresponding fields will open up below:
Country targets specific countries only.
Region or state targets specific regions or states within a country.
City targets specific cities within a region or state.
Enter one or more countries where this rule will apply.
Enter one or more regions or states where this rule will apply.
Available options are based on your selected countries.
Enter one or more cities where this rule will apply.
Available options are based on your selected regions or states.
Enter included rate codes that should only appear to guests from your targeted locations.
Enter excluded rate codes that should not appear to guests from your targeted locations.
πNote: You can use both included and excluded rate codes in the same rule.
Enter the priority number.
A lower numbers have higher priority.
If a guest qualifies for multiple rules, the highest priority rule applies.
Click Create New to save your rule.
Click cancel to abandon the changes.
Chain-Level Management
Geo pricing can also be configured and managed at the chain level for multiple property management and then assigned to the relevant hotels as required.
The usual rules for chain management apply the rates must exist already at the property prior to the assignment.
